8th Grade Mathematics at Wichita Collegiate School is where you get to discover, understand and explore the relationships between objects in the world around you. Whether it is the relationship between days and the number of people that are sick with a specific illness, or the relationship between the number of iPhones sold and the price of Apple stock, or the relationship between the day of the year and your parent’s generosity. We then use what we have discovered to develop functions to model these relationships and use these models to predict the future. A model could help you predict when and where to have vaccines available to fight an illness, or when to buy or sell Apple stock, or when is the best time to ask your parents for a raise on your allowance. All very useful things to know!!
